Dr. Khan's career in academia began in 1985 when he started teaching at the International Islamic University in Islamabad. Since then, he has taught at various prestigious institutions such as Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Kansas State University in the United States, and Suleyman Demirel University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In August 2000, he joined the Department of Economics at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

Dr. Khan holds a PhD in Economics from Kansas State University, and his research interests primarily focus on applied econometrics, Labor economics, and agricultural economics. He has taught a range of courses throughout his career, including Econometrics, Microeconomic Analysis, Agriculture and Food Policy, Labor Economics, and Intermediate Microeconomics.

Outside of his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Khan is actively involved in various committees and taskforces of the government. He has also co-authored significant publications such as the Draft Industrial Policy 2012, published by the Ministry of Industries in Islamabad, and the Punjab Economic Report 2017, published by the Punjab Economic Research Institute in Lahore.

Dr. Khan has also contributed his expertise to projects for prominent organizations such as the World Bank, International Growth Centre, Tetra Pak, and Nestlé. His academic research has been published in esteemed journals such as Applied Economics, Economics Bulletin, and Pakistan Development Review.

Additionally, Dr. Khan has supervised numerous MPhil and master’s theses, demonstrating his commitment to mentoring and guiding students in their research pursuits.
