External Membership Privilege's
Due to a high demand, the LUMS library has decided to open its doors to the LUMS alumni, former employees of the University, researchers, international visitors, postgraduate students and other interested individuals through an External Membership programme. The Library offers the following types of external memberships:
- Gold (Individual/Alumni)
- Classic (Individual/Alumni)
- Temporary
How to apply?
Step 1: Read the details of each type of membership and choose one that is appropriate for you
Step 2: Complete the External Membership application form
Step 3: Prepare a cheque/demand draft for the relevant amount, crossed and made payable to Lahore University of Management Sciences
Step 4: Mail the form, cheque/demand draft and necessary documents to the library at the address given below:

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS
1. GOLD
WHO MAY APPLY?
- LUMS/REDC alumni
- Former employees of LUMS (faculty and staff having more than ten years of service with LUMS)
- Group companies.
MEMBERSHIP FEE

PRIVILEGES
- Members can borrow four books at a time for 14 days or can renew the same for a further period.
- Access to the world’s best e-resources within the campus (Business Source Premier, IEEE Xplore, JSTOR, SCOPUS etc.) is just a click away.
- Smart cards will be issued to all registered members to access all library facilities.
- Information and reference services, including reference questions, library orientations, training, and workshops, will be provided to all active members.
Note: The library reserves the right to accept or reject any application and to alter the membership fee and categories.
2. CLASSIC

- LUMS/REDC alumni
- Former employees of LUMS (faculty and staff having more than ten years of service with LUMS)

3. TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP

- Individuals
- Researchers
- LUMS/REDC alumni
- Postgraduate students from other universities in the country
MEMBERSHIP FEE

General Instructions:
- Temporary members are not entitled to borrow any material
- Payment is not refundable/transferable except for the smart card security fee
- Temporary members are not allowed to use library computers
- Temporary members are not entitled to use any LUMS facility other than the library, mosque and PDC (Library Timings are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)
- All disciplinary fines will be applicable and will be deducted from the security fee in case of any violation
- Strict disciplinary action, including the cancellation of Membership, will be taken on the violation of the LUMS code of conduct.
- Short pants are strictly not allowed in the library
- Please do not leave your personal belongings unattended; the library is not responsible for any losses
- The smart card is a must for entrance and exit from the library
- Food and drinks are not allowed in the library
- Set your mobile phones on silent mode within the library premises
- Members are supposed to get the Visitor’s Pass from the in-gate against their identity card.
