How the Library is Responding?

Our first and foremost focus at this stage is to keep the campus community safe.  We are encouraging social distancing and health safety measures throughout the campus. The library-limited services will continue, including databases, articles, journals, and magazines, plagiarism detection services, and other digital resources, etc. The University Library will be closed for all those who intend to use it as a reading room. The library will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and we will maintain a staff presence for borrowing books only. The online services will also be maintained. We will strictly discourage any person from using the library for extended stay or study. People may get their books from the stacks, check them out, and leave (within designated hours). All reading and study areas will be closed and off-limits to students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

• Reference Questions: Reference services will also continue to be offered by calling and leaving a message (be sure to include your contact information) or by using the chat with a Librarian (Ask a Librarian) feature located on the bottom left of our library homepage. We are available to return messages promptly.

• Use the Library Remotely (VPN): We are continuing to offer digital services to our library users’ which provides remote access to the library databases, articles search, and all the library website contents remotely by using  Zambeel login credentials.

• Due Dates & Fines: Due dates will be extended until the library re-opens to the LUMS community and fines will not accrue during that time. There will be a five-day grace period to return items - and avoid fines - once the library re-opens. Currently our outdoor book returns box are placed near In-gate.
